GREENVILLE, S.C. – Winthrop women's tennis (4-2) won its fourth consecutive match with a 4-3 win over Furman (4-6) Saturday afternoon.

The Eagles earned the early 1-0 lead taking two doubles courts. Court one duo Lauren Proctor and Megan Kauffman continued their undefeated run with a 6-2 victory, finishing first. Furman tied things up with a win on court three, but duo Alisa Soloveva and Tayla Van Eck gutted out a 7-5 win on court two to bring home the point.

No. 20 Lauren Proctor continued her dominance on court one with a quick 6-1, 6-1 victory to lead the way in singles play. Megan Kauffman's 6-4, 6-2 victory at three gave the Eagles an early 3-0 lead. The Paladins would answer with wins on courts four through six to even the match score. The team result would come down to court two and sophomore Alisa Soloveva delivered with a 7-6, 3-6, 6-0 win, keeping her undefeated streak alive.

The Eagles will open up Big South Conference play this Tues., Feb. 27 against Presbyterian (4-3) at home at Rock Hill Tennis Center at 2 p.m.
