ROCK HILL, S.C. - Winthrop women's tennis (3-2) downed Elon (5-5) at Rock Hill Tennis Center 6-1 Friday afternoon. 

The Eagles grabbed the advantage early by sweeping the doubles point and didn't slow down in singles play, winning all but one court. Three courts were decided in three-set matches. Sophomore Alisa Soloveva continues to shine as she remains undefeated at court two (4-0) and No. 20 junior Lauren Proctor posted her third-straight victory in the first position.

Winthrop has a quick turnaround, heading to Greenville, S.C. to take on Furman on Sat., Feb. 24 at 10 a.m.
