DAVIDSON, N.C. - Winthrop women's tennis (1-2) earned its first win of the season with a 4-3 victory over Davidson (3-2) Sunday afternoon. 

The Eagles started strong, winning the doubles point with two out of three courts, including a dominant 6-1 performance by unbeaten duo Lauren Proctor and Megan Kauffman in the first position. The squad battled in the singles portion to bring home the match win with Lauren Proctor, Alisa Soloveva and Aida Kelic each notching individual court victories.

UP NEXT: 
After rain delayed the originally scheduled home opener on Feb. 10, the Eagles will host their first home match on Sat., Feb. 17 vs. UNC Wilmington at 11 a.m. .
