DAVIDSON, N.C. – Winthrop women's tennis (0-2) heads just north of the state line to take on Davidson College (2-1) Sun., Feb. 11 at 1 p.m. The Eagles are back in action for the first time since the ITA Kick-Off Weekend Jan. 26-27 with two matches being postponed due to weather.

EYEING THE WILDCATS
Davidson's only loss came against No. 5 UNC, which also defeated the Eagles. Since the loss, the Wildcats have notched victories over Big South opponents UNC Asheville and Gardner-Webb.

HISTORIC NATIONAL RANKING
Junior Lauren Proctor is ranked No. 14 in the Oracle/ITA Division I Women's National Singles Rankings. She is currently the only student-athlete nationally ranked from the Big South Conference and the highest-ranked player from any school in South Carolina.  Proctor had a history-making fall season, winning the ITA Carolinas Regional title for the first time in program history.

PRESEASON FAVORITE
The Winthrop women's tennis team has been predicted to finish first in the Big South Conference by the league's coaches, receiving all but one of the first-place votes. This year's selection marks the 15th consecutive year Winthrop has been voted the preseason favorite by the coaches. Winthrop won the league title last season, the program's 19th conference championship overall.
