ROCK HILL, SC – The Winthrop Baseball team hosts Big South foe Campbell this weekend beginning this Friday at 6 pm at The Winthrop Ballpark.
The Eagles enter this weekend with a 27-19 and 13-5 BSC and are coming off a loss against Davidson on Wednesday. Campbell is 22-26 and 7-11 BSC and are coming off a win against North Carolina Central 15-4 on Wednesday.
Winthrop will be going with senior
Reece Green on Friday, sophomore
Nate Pawelczyk on Saturday, and freshman
Colton Rendon on Sunday.
Senior
Anthony Paulsen enters the weekend with a .349 batting average with 60 hits, 30 runs scored, 13 doubles, and 24 RBI. Right behind him is junior
Mitch Spires who is batting .345 with 60 hits, 37 runs scored, 11 doubles, and 27 RBI.
The Camels Matthew Barefoot is leading the team in batting average with .361, hits with 70 and doubles with 22, but he has 39 runs scored, 8 home runs, and 45 RBI on the season.
Saturday is Bob Woodard day and donations will be taken to help with his medical costs. Sunday is Senior Day, along with Mother's Day. C.J. Hicks,
