ROCK HILL, SC – The Winthrop Baseball team faces Presbyterian College this weekend for a three game series at the Winthrop Ballpark.
The Eagles (16-13, 5-1 BSC) are coming off a win against Charlotte after scoring three in the top of the ninth to take a 3-2 win. The Blue Hose (15-16, 3-3 BSC) are coming off a win on the road at North Carolina Central.
Winthrop will have senior
Reece Green on the mound for Friday's game beginning at 6 pm, sophomore Nate Pawelcyzk will be on the mound in Saturday's game beginning at 2 pm, and freshman
Colton Rendon will take the mound for Sunday's game beginning at 2 pm.
Pawelcyzk is coming off a weekend in Creighton where he threw eight innings, not allowing a hit until two outs in the seventh while striking out nine.
Senior
Anthony Paulsen has been tearing it up lately after starting the season batting .208. In the last 22 games, he has a .345 batting average with 29 hits nine doubles, one triple, three home runs, and 11 RBI. He is also on a 10-game hitting streak.
Winthrop is 12-9 all-time against Presbyterian College but got swept by them in 2016.
The Blue Hoes A.J. Priaulx is batting .330 with six doubles, two home runs, and 17 RBI this season and Brian Kehner has a 2-1 record with a 3.75 ERA in 44 strikeouts.
