ROCK HILL, SC – The Winthrop baseball team looks for a second straight win when it travels to #7 South Carolina, Wednesday evening at Founders Park with the first pitch set for 7 p.m.
The Eagles enter the game with a 5-6 record while the Gamecocks come in at 7-5. The Winthrop Sports Network will have an internet-only broadcast.
Winthrop is coming off a 9-7 win over Albany on Sunday, in which the offense was led by
Hunter Lipscomb went 3-for-5 with 3 RBI.
Sophomore
Dalton Whitaker will take the mound on Wednesday, who will be on a pitch count according to Coach Riginos He has a 1-1 record in four appearances.
The Gamecocks dropped two in a row, dropping a weekend series to Clemson, 2-1. South Carolina will be in action against The Citadel Tuesday night. The Gamecocks are led offensively by Jacob Olson who enters Tuesday evening with a .324 batting average, with three home runs, seven RBI, and three doubles.
