Lauren Proctor has been named the Big South Conference Women'sTennis Player of the Week for matches played March 20-26, it was announced on Wednesday by the conference office.

Proctor (Bradenton, FL) led Winthrop to a pair of Big South Conference victories over UNC Asheville and Campbell and a non-conference win over UNC Wilmington while improving her season singles record to 17-2. She opened the week with a 6-3, 6-0 win at No. 1 singles over UNC Asheville's Hannah Francisco and teamed with doubles partner
Megan Kauffman to snap a six-match winning streak by the Bulldogs' duo of Kylee Shipley and Francisco. Against UNCW, Proctor handed Madaria Straume her first loss of the year at No. 1 singles (6-3, 7-5), and she closed out the week with a 7-6, 6-2 win over Campbell's No. 1 player, Alexndra Andrivot.
