ROCK HILL, SC--Winthrop sophomore women's golfer
Louise Jeppesen was a member of the club team that captured the 2014 Swedish Club Team Championship, a four-day event that was played at the Barseback Golf and Country Club in Skane, Sweden.
Jeppesen, a native of Vken, Sweden, played for the Vasatorp Club which finished first our of 15 teams by shooting a total score of 32 over par for 108 holes for a winning margin of seven strokes over the second place finisher. In the Swedish Championship, each team is comprised of six players, but only four play at a time. The event lasted four days and involved foursome and best ball competition on the first and third days with single play on the second and fourth days.
Jeppesen, who played in all 10 Winthrop events as a freshman, was the only amateur on the team, which was led by European Tour veteran Antonella Cvitan. With Jeppesen helping lead the way, Vasatorp improved from its eighth place finish in 2013 to claim the championship. Jeppesen played in both days of the foursome competition and shot rounds of 78 and 73.
