ROCK HILL, SC—Winthrop men's tennis coach Andrew Stubbs has resigned his position after three seasons in order to accept a business opportunity with a tennis academy in Orlando, FL.
Stubbs first came to Winthrop five years ago and spent his first two years as the assistant men's and women's tennis coach on the staff of
Cid Carvalho who served as head coach of both teams . In 2012, a decision was made to split Carvalho's duties into two positions and Stubbs was named coach of the men's program.
This past season, he led the Winthrop men to the Big South Conference Championship and NCAA Tournament automatic bid .
His three-year record at Winthrop was 35-37 following a 16-10 season in 2014.
