Baseball Game With The Citadel Moved To Wednesday At 6 p.m.

ROCK HILL, SC -- Today's scheduled baseball game against The Citadel has been moved to Wednesday at 6 p.m. due to rain forecast for the Rock Hill area this afternoon and through the evening.

Winthrop looks to get back on the winning track when it takes on The Citadel for the 44th time at The Winthrop Ballpark.   The Eagles look to even the all-time series between the two schools as the Bulldogs currently hold a 22-21 advantage after claiming a 6-4 victory  last week in Charleston.

A pair of freshmen will face-off on the mound as left-hander Sam Kmiec (0-1) goes up against right-hander Austin Livingston (0-0).

Winthrop (3-8) continues to get hot hitting from junior Cody Dolan (.389), Leighton Daniels (.333), Clay Altman (.324), and Matt Lobacz (.308).

The Citadel comes to Rock Hill carrying a 7-5 record on the season.  The Bulldogs, however, are just 1-3  on the road.  They are led at the plate by Drew DeKerlegand (.421), Tyler Griffin (.404), and Joe Jackson (.373) who have combined for 39 RBI's so far this season.

The Eagles hope to snap a three-game losing streak after a tough weekend series in Or.lando against Central Florida.  It was a case of good pitching and no hitting on Friday night in a 3-0 loss and then back-to-back games on Saturday and Sunday that saw the Eagles score runs, but the pitching could not hold leads as Winthrop fell 12-7 and 7-6.
