CHARLOTTE, NC – Winthrop lacrosse freshmen Hayley Krause and Megan Wallenhorst have been named the Big South Offensive Player of the Week and the Big South Freshman of the Week respectively as announced by the conference office.

Krause, a midfielder from Forest Hills, MD, earned the Choice Hotels Big South Women's Lacrosse Offensive Player of the Week by virtue of her six-goal performance in two games over the weekend.  Krause tallied five scores against Howard on Friday and added one more goal against Navy on Sunday.

Wallenhorst, an attacker from Ellicott City, MD, was awarded the The Crons Brand Freshman of the Week after she scored five goals in two matches.  Wallenhorst scored Winthrop's first-ever lacrosse goal against Howard while adding three more against the Bison.  She also added one goal against Navy.

The Eagles will return to action on Friday when they host Marquette for the first-ever home game for Winthrop lacrosse.  The match is set for a 6 p.m. start at Eagle Field.
