Men's Tennis Unable To Upset No. 46 UNC Wilmington

Eagles Face Campbell To Open Big South Play On Friday, Feb. 17

WILMINGTON, NC –
The Winthrop men's tennis team dropped its fourth match of the season as the Eagles fell to No. 46 ranked UNC Wilmington 7-0 Sunday afternoon at the UNCW Tennis Complex.

The Eagles fall 2-4 on the season as UNCW improve to 5-1 on the young season.
 
The freshman duo of Rich Meade and Dylan Comerford picked up an 8-4 victory over Wilmington's Michael Reilly and Sam Williams at No. 2 doubles, but the Eagles were unable to capture another doubles match, dropping the doubles point.

In the singles round, Winthrop was unable to get on the scoreboard in the singles round, despite Nadav Ruppin and Guy Kubi both going three sets in each of their matches.

Winthrop will return to action on Friday, Feb. 17 as the Eagles will open up conference play at home against Campbell. That match is set for 2 p.m.
