ROCK HILL, SC – Winthrop baseball players #Chas Crane# and Eddie Rohan were named to the 2010 Big South Baseball All-Tournament Team, it was announced Saturday evening following the conclusion of the championship game between Liberty and Coastal Carolina.
It is the first time that Crane has been named to the All-Tournament Team in his career, while Rohan makes the team for the second time. Rohan earned All-Tournament Team honors in 2009 as well.
Crane led the Eagles during the Big South Baseball Tournament with a .462 (6-for-13) batting average with three home runs and eight RBI. He also led the team in total bases, slugging percentage and on-base percentage. He posted a homer in Winthrop's tournament opener on Tuesday night against Gardner-Webb and recorded two more home runs in an 11-6 win over VMI.
Rohan finished the tournament with a .385 (5-for-13) batting average with two homers and three runs batted in. He homered in the Eagles victory over the Keydets on Thursday and in a 9-7 defeat to the Flames on Friday. Rohan now has 42 career home runs, which puts him in a tie for second place all-time for Winthrop in career homers with Jacob Dempsey and Daniel Carte. He is also tied for fifth in the Big South Conference for career home runs.
The All-Tournament Team appears below and is comprised of four infielders, three outfielders, two pitchers, one catcher, one designated hitter and a utility position.
