The only victory in singles play came with Ruppin as he came back from one set down to defeat Thomas Dehaen 1-6, 6-3, 11-9 in the No. 2 singles match. In the No. 5 singles match, Kubi fought hard but lost to Watson 4-6, 7-5, 10-3 in the No. 5 singles match.
“It's disappointing to lose such an important match 6-1,” head coach Cid Carvalho said. “I did not feel we played very well but give credit to Radford that played a very solid match. Nadav had a very good win at No. 2. Hopefully, we can play better tomorrow against Coastal Carolina.”
The Eagles will be back in action at 11 a.m. Saturday as they face Coastal Carolina for another conference match.
