ROCK HILL, S.C. -- Winthrop University baseball junior starting pitcher
Brayden Gilley was tabbed with his second Big South Conference Starting Pitcher of the Week award on the season, the conference office announced on Monday afternoon, for the week of March 30th.
Gilley becomes the first Eagle since Riley Huge in 2024 to earn the honors twice in a season.
Gilley dominated again Friday, firing six innings of two-hit, scoreless baseball with five strikeouts against Charleston Southern to help Winthrop claim a game one shutout. The outing marked his third combined shutout of the season, as he held the Buccaneers to a .111 batting average against with a 0.67 WHIP on the night.
