Rock Hill, S.C. – Winthrop senior center
Logan Duncomb has been named a collegeinsider.com finalist for the 2025-26 Nolan Richardson award.
The award is presented annually to a division I player who is the heart and soul of his team and a leader on and off the court.
The Nolan Richardson award is named in honor of one of the true legends of the game. His frenetic style of fast-break basketball, with full-court pressure, helped him become the only coach to win NJCCA, NIT and NCAA National Championships. After winning a junior college national championship at Western Texas College, Richardson went on to lead Tulsa to the NIT Championship in his first season at the helm. He averaged 24 wins per season in his five years at Tulsa, leading the Golden Hurricanes to three NCAA Tournament appearances.
Duncomb was a Big South All-Conference selection and the 2026 Big South Player of the Year. He averaged career-bests in scoring (18.3) and rebounding (8.9) while also leading the conference in free throws made and free throws attempted. Duncomb broke the program's single-season record of free throws and free throws attempted. He was in double-figures 27-of-31 games and scored 20 or more points 14 times. Duncomb is ranked 16
th nationally (as of Mar. 11) in double-doubles with 14 and ranked 18
th in offensive rebounds per game (3.63). On Jan. 24, Duncomb scored a career-high 38 points in a win at PC. The 38 points are the third most by an Eagle in a road game and the third most in a Big South road game. Duncomb became just the second Eagle to ever average a double-double in league play with 21.3 ppg and 10.3 rpg. Greg Lewis was the first to do so in 2001-02.
Nolan Richardson was inducted into the College Basketball Hall of Fame and 2008 and he was enshrined in the Naismith Basketball Hall of Fame in 2014.
The recipient of the annual award is determined by a 10-member voting committee, which consists of current and former head coaches, as well as two senior staff members of collegeinsider.com.
The 2026 award will be announced in Indianapolis, IN, site of the men's Division I Basketball Championship.
