ROCK HILL, S.C. -- The seedings and pairings for next week's Air Force Reserve Big South Conference Women's Basketball Championship at Freedom Hall Civic Center in Johnson City, Tenn., have been determined following the conclusion of the conference's regular-season schedule, with the Winthrop University women's basketball team is slated in the fifth seed.
Winthrop will take on Fourth-seeded Gardner-Webb on Thursday at 2:00 p.m. The Runnin' Bulldogs took both matchups in the regular season in two close contests.
The Eagles finished the year 14-16 with a 7-9 conference record, earning the fifth seed for the second.
Winthrop is 0-3 all time in the Big South tournament, with an 0-2 record in the first round/quarterfinals. As a five-seed, the Eagles are 5-6 all time.
The 2026 Air Force Reserve Big South Women's Basketball Championship will be televised on ESPN+ Wednesday-through-Saturday, while Sunday's Championship game will air live on ESPN2 for the third consecutive year. The Big South's Tournament champion receives an automatic bid to the NCAA Women's Basketball Tournament. The Conference Championship schedule is below, and tickets are available at
