ROCK HILL, S.C. -- Winthrop University baseball junior starting pitcher
Brayden Gilley was named Big South Conference Pitcher of the Week for the week of Feb. 24th, the conference office announced.
Gilley was dominant in his lone start on the week, getting the ball on Friday against Morehead State, who was fresh off an upset over nationally ranked Kentucky. Gilley went 6.0 innings, striking out a career-high ten batters, while only surrendering four hits and two walks, only needing 78 pitches to get the ten punchouts to help the Eagles shutout the visiting Eagles, 10-0.
