Dec Comp Student Athlete of the Month

Duncomb, Porter Named Comporium Student-Athletes of the Month For December

Rock Hill, S.C. – Winthrop men's basketball center Logan Duncomb and women's basketball forward Amourie Porter have been named the Comporium Student-Athletes of the Month for December.

Duncomb averaged a double-double during the month with 20.6 ppg and 10.4 rpg while shooting 68 percent from the field. He also led the team with 63 free throw attempts (9.0 attempts per game). Duncomb began the month with a career-high 28 points in helping the Eagles earn an overtime road win at LIU. He also had a career-high three blocks in the game. The second double-double of the month came in a 23 point, 10 rebound effort in 16 minutes against Bob Jones as he finished the game a perfect 11-for-11 from the field. That effort tied the program record for best field goal percentage in a single-game with 10 or more made field goals. On Dec. 31 in the Big South opener at Longwood he posted a double-double with a career-high 31 points and hauled in 13 boards. Overall he had four 20+ games and four double-doubles in the month of December.

Porter averaged a team-high 15.6 ppg over the month of December. She was second on the team with 7.4 rpg 2.4 apg and 2.4 spg. Porter was in double-figures four of the five games she appeared. She matched her season-high of 22 points at Virginia on Dec. 20. A 14 points, 13 rebound performance against Johnson & Wales jump started her month as she followed that with 17 points in the win over UNC Wilmington. In the Big South opener she finished with 19 points and nine rebounds, just missing a double-double. For the month she was 33-for-39 at the foul line (85%).
