Rock Hill, S.C. – Winthrop men's basketball announced its non-conference schedule Tuesday evening followed by Wednesday morning's release of the Big South Conference slate to complete the schedule for the 2025-26 season.
The Eagles are coming off their second 20-win season in four years under head coach
Mark Prosser and their season will begin Monday, Nov. 3 as they will participate in the Field of 68 Opening Day marathon. Winthrop will take on Queens at 8 a.m. inside the Rock Hill Sports & Event Center.
Winthrop will host Mercer in its home opener on Saturday, Nov. 15
th as part of Winthrop Homecoming Week. This game will be a doubleheader with the Winthrop women's basketball team.
The Eagles are also slated to host S.C. State (Nov. 29), Coastal Carolina (Dec. 6), Toccoa Falls (Dec. 9), Bob Jones (Dec. 13), and Clinton College (Dec. 21).
The non-conference road schedule begins Friday, Nov. 7 with a trip to George Mason and will also take the Eagles to Coastal Carolina (Nov. 11), Arkansas (Nov. 18), Jackson State (Nov. 23), Nebraska (Nov. 25), LIU (Dec. 2), North Dakota (Dec. 18) and Texas Tech (Dec. 28).
The Eagles will face North Dakota, Texas Tech, Clinton College and Jackson State for the first time in program history. Texas Tech finished the 2024-25 season ranked 8
th while Arkansas finished 20
th. The two teams met in the Sweet 16 with Texas Tech holding off the Razorbacks 85-83.
Big South Conference competition begins Wednesday, Dec. 31 as the Eagles will open at Longwood. The league slate has a couple of small changes from the schedule the past couple of seasons as the conference will have three weeks where midweek games will take place on Thursday instead of Wednesday.
Winthrop's conference home opener will be Saturday, Jan. 3 against Gardner-Webb.
