Charlotte, N.C. – Four-time defending champion High Point University has been voted the top team in the annual Big South Conference Women's Outdoor Track & Field preseason poll, as voted by the league's head coaches and announced Thursday afternoon by the conference office. The Panthers received all eight first-place votes and 64 points to win the championship this season.
Charleston Southern was second to High Point with 56 points. Gardner-Webb landed in the third position with 45 points, and Radford claimed fourth with 42 points. USC Upstate finished fifth in the polling with 28 points, followed by UNC Asheville in sixth (26 points), Winthrop in seventh (16 points) and Longwood receiving the eighth and final spot (11 points).
The 2025 women's outdoor track & field season begins Friday, Mar. 14 and concludes with the 2025 Big South Women's Outdoor Track & Field Championship, May 12-14 at Karl Strauss Track at UNC Asheville.
