SERIES HISTORY VERSUS WOFFORD
The two schools will meet for the 40th time with Winthrop leading the series, 23-16. This will be the second of two meetings between the two teams this season. The Eagles and the Terriers met for the first time on Apr. 1, 1980 in Rock Hill, with Winthrop winning 7-0 on the way to winning 17 of the first 23 contests from 1980-2013. Since 2013, Wofford has won 10 of the last 16 meetings. Winthrop won the last meeting, 16-6 in Rock Hill, S.C. on Mar. 26, snapping Wofford's five-game win streak in the series. In that game, the Eagles scored early and often, hitting three home runs and scored in every inning but two.
