Rock Hill, S.C. – The Big South Conference announced its annual men's basketball season awards as
Kelton Talford earned all-conference honors for a second time.
Alex Timmerman was named to the Big South All-Academic Team.
Talford was named to the Big South All-Conference First Team for a second straight season after leading the Eagles in scoring during the regular season with 14.3 ppg and rebounding (5.6). Talford was in double-figures in 14-of-16 Big South regular season games.
This season he became the 27
th player in program history to score 1,000 points over a career and also joined the 500 rebound club. He has climbed to 8
th all-time in scoring with 1,323 points and is 9
th all-time with 658 rebounds. He is the 48
th player in Big South history with 1,000 points and 600 rebounds. Talford has also moved into sixth all-time in program history with 515 free throw attempts.
On Jan. 13 he scored a season-high 27 points in the triple overtime victory over Radford. It was the first of three consecutive games with 20 or more points. He was named the Big South Conference Player of the Week on Jan. 16 for his effort.
This is the second all-conference honor for Talford as he was an All-Big South First Team selection in 2022-23. He is the 6
th Eagle to garner first team all-conference honors more than once.
Timmerman was named to the All-Academic Team as he works toward his MBA. The graduate transfer played in 30 games with seven starts as he averaged 7.5 ppg and 4.2 rpg. This season he surpassed 500 career rebounds and scored a season-high 21 points in the win at Coastal Carolina.
