Rock Hill, S.C. – Coming off a loss to Queens 13-12 late Tuesday afternoon, Winthrop hosts the Maine Bears in a three-game series this weekend. The contest scheduled for Friday, Mar. 1 at 3 p.m. has been postponed due to inclement weather.
The schedule for the weekend has been adjusted as the teams will now play a doubleheader on Saturday, Mar. 2 beginning at 1 p.m. Each game of the doubleheader will be nine innings. The series will conclude on Sunday with a single game at 2 p.m.

This will be the 10
th meeting between the Eagles and the Bears, with Winthrop leading the series, 8-1 and all prior meetings having taken place in Rock Hill. The first meeting was in mid-February 2017, as the Eagles took all three meetings. The Eagles also swept the Bears in mid-February 2020. The two teams met last year, with Winthrop taking two of three from Maine in early-March. The most recent meeting was on Mar. 5, 2023 with Maine winning 10-7 in 10 innings, the only victory in the series for the Bears.
