Rock Hill, S.C. – Winthrop head women's basketball coach Semeka Randall Lay has announced that senior guard
Jada Ryce will miss the 2024-25 season after suffering a season-ending injury.
"We are truly crushed that
Jada Ryce will be out this 2024-25 season," said Randall Lay. "What she has meant to this team and all her hard work will not be displayed this season due to her injury a few weeks ago. These last two years it has been to joy to coach Jada, every day she shows up and empty out her tank for this team. We will surely miss her this season but I know she will make an unbelievable comeback."
The 2023-24 Big South All-Conference selection has started all 60 games she's played in as an Eagle and was the team's leading scorer in 2023-24. She has also led the team in steals in back-to-back seasons, totaling 107.
