Rock Hill, S.C. – Winthrop men's head soccer coach Daniel Ridenhour announced the 2023 schedule, Monday afternoon.

The schedule includes seven home matches while hitting the road for 13 challenging matchups. The home schedule begins with three exhibition matches starting Aug. 12 vs. Georgia Southern and then hosting two games on Aug. 16 against USC Lancaster (4:30 p.m.) and Wingate (7:00 p.m.)

The Eagles open the season on Thursday, Aug. 24 at Coastal Carolina in the first of five consecutive road games. The remaining games on the road swing includes stops at Queens (Aug. 27), North Florida (Sept. 1), Furman (Sept. 8) and South Carolina (Sept. 12).

That leads to the regular season home opener on Saturday, Sept. 16 vs. Mercer, which will also be men's soccer alumni weekend. The remaining home schedule includes USC Upstate (Sept. 30), Radford (Oct. 7) and UNC Asheville (Oct. 28).

Big South action starts Sept. 23 at Gardner-Webb, which is the first time the Eagles open league play against the Runnin' Bulldogs since their first year in the conference (2008). That game is followed by a trip to Spartanburg, S.C. at Wofford on Sept. 26.

The remainder of the road games have the Eagles heading to Clemson (Oct. 3), Longwood (Oct. 11), Presbyterian College (Oct. 14), East Tennessee State (Oct. 17), College of Charleston (Oct. 24) and High Point (Nov. 1).

The Big South Conference Tournament will take the top four teams in the regular season standings. The conference semifinals will be Nov. 5 with the championship game taking place Nov. 11. The games will be played at the higher seed home field.
