Monay James highlighted Winthrop's second day of the 2023 Big South Outdoor Championship, Thursday at the Irwin Belk Complex.

On The Track (Top 8 Finishes)
- Toluwayan Agbeyomi and Kevin Brown both qualified for tomorrow's finals in the 100m dash, with Agbeyomi finishing fifth with a time of 10.54 while Brown finished seventh with a time of 10.63
In The Field (Top 8 Finishes)
- On the women's side, Monay James officially took home third in the heptathlon, earning six points for her team and 4,482 points for herself
- As part of the heptathlon, she competed in three more events, finishing with marks of 5.50m in the long jump (finishing first), 29.44m in the javelin throw (finishing third) and 2:41.92 in the 800m run
- This earned her all-conference honors for the first time
- She is the first Eagle to finish in the top three in the heptathlon at the conference outdoor championships since Taryn Deleon did it in 2017 with 4,745 points
- She is only the third Winthrop athlete to finish in the top three in this category
- Faith Wood finished fifth in the triple jump with a leap of 11.13m
- Johntavia Shaw finished 5th overall with a heave of 13.47m
- In the shot put, To'Mara Carmichael placed fourth in her flight with a mark of 11.93m
