CHARLOTTE, N.C. –Winthrop redshirt sophomore right-handed pitcher
Alex Logusch has been named Big South Starting Pitcher of the Week for games played April 24-30, the league office announced Monday afternoon.
Logusch had the best outing of his career as the Eagles defeated Charlotte 5-2 last Tuesday. In 6.1 innings of work, he carried a no-hitter into the seventh inning, giving up just one hit and one earned run while striking out nine batters, two shy of a career-high, resulting in him picking up his first win in Garnet and Gold.
This is Logusch's first weekly award of the season and his career and the second time Winthrop has been honored in 2023 (Logusch,
Nicholas Badillo).
