ROCK HILL, S.C.- Four Winthrop track and field teams are ranked in the top 100 of the USTFCCA National Rankings, their office announced today.
The discus team is ranked 29
th nationally with a toss of 173.16m, moving up 22 spots from last week's poll. In the USC Invitational this past Saturday,
Libby Roush,
Johntavia Shaw,
To'Mara Carmichael and
Ambar Nunez-Gomez had marks of 46.47, 45.52, 43.38 and 37.79m, respectively. Roush and Shaw finished second and fourth and set PR's while Carmichael finished seventh. Nunez-Gomez set a PR and finished 13
th.
The hammer team is ranked 57
th nationally with a hurl of 188.06m. They re-entered the top 100 after not being ranked that high last week. In the USC Invitational, Nunez-Gomez had a toss of 52.80m, finishing fifth while Carmichael finished seventh.
The javelin team is ranked 92
nd nationally with a throw of 110.43m.
On the men's side, the 100m team is ranked 88
th nationally with a time of 42.62, moving up 99 spots from last week's poll. In the USC Invitational,
Kevin Brown and
Jonquez Webb had times of 10.64 and 10.69, respectively.
