Cullowhee, N.C. – Winthrop men's & women's track & field continued their 2022-23 outdoor track and field season by competing in the Catamount Classic, taking home two more 1
st place finishes.

On The Track (Top 8 Finishes)
- On the men's side, Toluwayan Agbeyomi finished second in the 100m finals with a time of 10.43. He just missed a 20-year old school record by .01 seconds.
- Kevin Brown finished fifth in the 200m dash with a time of 21.87. He also finished sixth in the 400m dash with a time of 49.42, setting a PR.
- Daren Hinds finished fourth in the 5000m run with a time of 15:04.47, setting a PR.
- Matthew Wright finished sixth in the 110H with a time of 16.40.
- Bautista Vivanco won the 400H with a time of 54.47. In the same event, Jurnii Lucas finished sixth with a time of 57.87.
- In the 3000 steeplechase, Nolan Weisdorfer finished fourth with a time of 10:26.65, setting a PR.
- In the men's 4x100 relay, Winthrop's "A" team set a school record by finishing second with a time of 41.02. The previous record was set in 2003.
- In the men's 4x400 relay, Winthrop finished fifth with a time of 3:18.57.
- In the women's 4x100 relay, Winthrop finished seventh with a time of 50.03.
In The Field (Top 8 Finishes)
- On the men's side, Kenneth Williams Jr. and Jaden Mathieu finished fifth and seventh in the high jump with leaps of 1.95 and 1.90, respectively.
- In the long jump, Williams Jr. finished fourth in the long jump with a leap of 6.85m.
- On the women's side, Sonia Dean placed eighth in the long jump with a leap of 5.18m.
- Faith Wood finished fifth in the triple jump with a leap of 11.12m, setting a PR.
- Johntavia Shaw won the shot put with a mark of 13.28m. Shaw also finished second in the discus throw with a toss of 43.63m.
- In the same event, Libby Roush and To'Mara Carmichael finished fourth and seventh with marks of 41.84 and 39.15m, respectively.
- Ambar Nunez-Gomez finished second in the hammer throw with a toss of 50.01m. Carmichael and Shaw also finished sixth and seventh with tosses of 45.65 and 45.10m, respectively. Shaw set a PR in this event.
- Erica Tobin finished fifth in the javelin throw with a hurl of 32.73m.
What's Next
The Eagles return to action by competing in the USC Invitational in Columbia, S.C. next Friday and Saturday.
