Eagles Conclude Regular-Season Indoor Competition At Virginia Tech Challenge

Blacksburg, Va. – Winthrop men's & women's track & field continued their 2022-23 indoor track and field season with their fifth meet at the Virginia Tech Challenge.

On The Track (Top 8 Finishes)
  • On the men's side, Toluwayan Agbeyomi finished second in the 60m run with a time of 6.92.
  • In the same event, Jonquez Webb finished fourth with a time of 6.96. This was a PR.
  • Darren Frasier finished fourth in the 800m dash with a time of 1:59.28. This was a PR.
  • Kevin Brown finished fifth in the 200m dash with a time of 22.37.
  • Bautista Vivanco finished fifth in the 400m dash with a time of 49.06. He beat his previous PR in this event by one second.
  • Ian Gresham finished third in the 60m hurdles with a mark of 8.54. This was a PR.
  • Matthew Wright finished fifth in the same event with a mark of 9.16. This was a PR.
  • On the women's side, Alliyah Brooks finished seventh in the 60m dash with a mark of 8.19.
In The Field (Top 8 Finishes)
  • Sonia Dean finished seventh in the long jump with a leap of 5.14m. Dean also finished in the top eight in the 60m dash.
  • Faith Wood finished fourth in the triple jump with a mark of 10.83m.
  • Johntavia Shaw finished third in the shot put with a mark of 13.71m.
  • To'Mara Carmichael finished eighth in the shot put with a mark of 12.09m and fourth in the weight throw with a toss of 17.40m.
  • Ambar Nunez-Gomez finished sixth in the weight throw with a hurl of 16.52m.
  • Maurion Jamison set a PR by placing second in the triple jump with a mark of 13.34m.
What's Next
The Eagles stay put in Blacksburg by competing in the Big South Conference Indoor Championship from Feb. 24-25.
