Rock Hill, S.C. – Coming off a 71-41 loss at Clemson to open their 2023-24 season, Winthrop women's basketball heads to Tuscaloosa to take on the Alabama Crimson Tide on Friday afternoon.
SERIES HISTORY VERSUS ALABAMA
This will be the first ever meeting between the Eagles and the Crimson Tide. Alabama went 20-11 (9-7 SEC) last season and lost to powerhouse Baylor 78-74 in the first round of the NCAA Tournament in Storrs, Connecticut on Mar. 18.
LAST TIME OUT
- Opening their season on the road against an in-state foe, Winthrop fought the Tigers for a half but eventually fell to Clemson by a final score of 71-41 on Monday morning at Littlejohn Coliseum.
- Of the 11 new players that are on the roster, eight made their Eagle debut vs. the Tigers.
- Winthrop outscored Clemson 13-9 in the second quarter.
- Marissa Gasaway nearly recorded a double-double in her first game as an Eagle.

Winthrop returns to Rock Hill for the Eagles home opener, hosting Erskine on Nov. 14 at 6 p.m. The game will be televised on ESPN+.
