COLUMBIA, S.C. – After more than a month off, Winthrop men's & women's track & field continued their 2022-23 indoor track and field season with their second meet at the Carolina Challenge.

In The Field (Top 8 Finishes)
- In the women's long jump, freshman Sonia Dean placed fifth and junior Monay James placed eighth, finishing with leaps of 5.20 and 5.12m, respectively. Dean's was a personal best.
- In the women's triple jump, freshman Faith Wood had a leap of 10.76m, finishing seventh. This was a personal best.
- In the women's shot put, senior To'Mara Carmichael finished eighth with a mark of 11.72m. In the weight throw invite, Carmichael finished sixth with a throw of 16.32m.
- In the women's shot put invite, freshman Johntavia Shaw finished eighth with a mark of 12.91m.
- In the women's weight throw invite, junior Ambar Nunez-Gomez finished seventh with a hurl of 15.58m.
- In the men's long jump, junior Kenneth Williams Jr. finished fourth with a leap of 6.91m. This is a personal best.
What's Next
The Eagles will return to action at the VMI Invitational hosted by the Virginia Military Institute in Lexington, Va. from Jan. 27-28.
