HOW IT HAPPENED
- Spyke doubled to left field for the Eagles' first hit of the game after Joseph Szvetitz was hit by a pitch, but Szvetitz was thrown out at home plate by Clemson
- The Tigers loaded the bases in the bottom half of the frame, but a Josh Bookbinder strikeout ended the threat
- In the second inning, Clemson batted around and scored five runs
- A two-run single got the offense going before the next batter hit a two-run double
- A fielder's choice led to the fifth run of the inning and gave the Tigers a five-run lead
- The bottom of the fourth inning saw Clemson scratch out another run on an infield groundout with the bases loaded
- The Tigers pushed across two more runs in the fifth on a single and a fielder's choice
- A seventh-inning single gave Clemson a 10-0 lead
