ROCK HILL, S.C. - Winthrop was picked to finish eighth in the annual Big South Conference Women's Indoor Track & Field preseason poll, as voted by the league's head coaches and announced Thursday afternoon by the conference office. High Point received eight unanimous first-place votes and 64 total points for the top spot in the voting.

Campbell is second with 50 points. Charleston Southern totaled 49 points for third-place, while USC Upstate claimed fourth with 36 points -- just ahead of fifth-place Radford (32 points). UNC Asheville landed sixth in the polling with 26 points, followed by Gardner-Webb (seventh – 19 points) and Winthrop (eighth – 12 points).

The 2022-23 women's indoor track & field season begins this weekend, Dec. 1-4, and concludes with the 2022 Big South Women's Indoor Track & Field Championship, Feb. 24-25 at Rector Field House in Blacksburg, Va.
