ROCK HILL, S.C. – Winthrop baseball will host the High Point Panthers for a three-game set April 30-May 1. The series will kick-off with a single-game Friday at 5 p.m. and a double-header scheduled for 1 p.m. Saturday afternoon.

The Eagles will look to snap a four-game losing skid when they welcome the Panthers to Rock Hill.
Joey Tepper has heated up at the plate, batting .500 in the last four games against Gardner-Webb. His .301 batting average is second-best on the team, only behind
Ty Hooks who is currently batting .366 on the season.
Tyler Baker and
Andrew Jenner both homered in Winthrop's midweek contest against the Runnin' Bulldogs. Baker's 3-run blast was his third of the season, while Jenner's solo shot was the first of his collegiate career.
Colten Rendon will get the start in Game 2 for the Eagles. This will be his first start since 2018. He has made 11 appearances out of the bullpen this season, totaling up 13 strikeouts, three saves and two wins.
High Point dropped its last two contests, Game 2 of its double header against Radford and a midweek contest against UNCG.
Game 2 starter, Lyttle Grey, owns a 2.84 ERA, fourth-lowest in the Big South and leads the squad with 63 strikeouts, third most in the conference.
Joe Johnson is batting .302 on the season and leads the team with seven homeruns and 13 triples. Peyton Carr is leading the way with 23 RBI.
This will be the first meeting between the two teams this season. Winthrop currently holds a 39-21 all-time series lead over the Panthers. The Eagles have won seven of the last 10 meetings.
