The Eagles enter the weekend series winning five of their last seven, after taking 2-of-3 from Longwood and USC Upstate in back-to back weekends. They also defeated Charleston Southern, 4-1, last Tuesday night in a midweek matchup.

Spencer Yankle had a weekend for himself, going 4-for-11 with five doubles, three of those in Game 1 against USC Upstate. His six doubles is a team-high and surpasses his career best of five. Freshman Jospeh Szvetitz has also found his stride, going 4-for-10 at the dish over the last three games with a .400 batting average. Game 1 starter, Tyler Jones, is in the top 10 for ERA at 3.05 and leads the Big South Conference in lowest opponents' batting average, .171, in four games.

Winthrop enters the series in first place of the Big South with its 8-7 overall record and 5-2 mark against conference opponents.

For the Camels, Spencer Packard leads the offense with a team-best .389 batting average. He has also scored 13 runs while knocking in an impressive 21 runs in 18 games.
Not far behind is red shirt senior Christian Matthew, who matches Packard's 21 RBIs in 14 games, hitting .347 on the season.

Winthrop and Campbell have met 55 times in history, with Campbell holding a one-game all-time series lead, 28-27. These teams last met in the 2019 Big South Conference Championship game, where Campbell earned the Big South's automatic bid to the NCAA tournament with an 8-6 win. Both the Eagles and Camels have won five of the last 10 meetings.
