Box Score Buies Creek, N.C. – Winthrop women's basketball's season comes to an end Monday night with a 54-41 loss to the Campbell Camels. After taking a six-point lead early in the third quarter, the Eagles struggled to contain a 12-2 Campbell run, handing them a lead they wouldn't lose.
J'Mani Ingram led the Eagles with 12 points, she also grabbed a career-high six boards.

HOW IT HAPPENED
The first quarter was a back-and-forth battle between the Eagles and Camels.
Sydney Hunter kicked things off with a layup a minute into the contest. Campbell would put up seven quick points, capped off with a Luana Serranho 3-pointer, to take a 7-4 lead. Serranho and Hall would exchange shots from deep, tying things up at 10 apiece. Back-to-back buckets for
J'Mani Ingram would give the Eagles a 14-12 edge with 2:15 remaining in the first quarter. With 37 seconds remaining,
Tori Hall hit a jumper, putting the Eagles back ahead by two, 16-14, but Brittany Staves would hit a shot as time expired to keep things tied at 16 heading into the second quarter of play.
A 7-1 run to open the second 10 minutes, put Campbell ahead by five, 23-18. The Eagles responded with 12 unanswered points to lead by seven, 30-23, with 1:10 remaining in the half. A Faith Price 3-pointer with 34 seconds to play would cut Winthrop's lead to four, 30-26, going into the locker room at halftime.
The third quarter started out slow for both teams with the first points coming at the 6:27 mark when Staves fouled
Sierra Hunter and she drained both her free throws. Campbell would heat up, stringing together a 12-0 run to regain the lead, 38-32.
Sydney Hunter snapped the streak with a jumper to keep her team within two possessions with 10 minutes to play, 38-34.
Campbell kept things rolling into the final 10 minutes with five quick points to lead, 42-34. Winthrop struggled late, going 0-of-9 to close out the game. An 11-4 run on the other side, gave the Camels the 13-point, 54-41, win over the Eagles to advance to the Big South Semifinals.
