Rock Hill, S.C. – Winthrop baseball will play host to USC Upstate Mar. 26-27. The series will kick-off with a single game Friday night slated to begin at 5 p.m., followed by a double-header Saturday afternoon, starting at 1 p.m.

The Eagles enter the weekend series winning three of their last four, after taking 2-of-3 from Longwood the previous weekend and defeating Charleston Southern, 4-1, Tuesday night.
Andrew Jenner continues to be an offensive threat with his .391 batting average and team-leading 18 hits.
Freshman
Ty Hooks has also found his stride, going 7-for-12 at the dish over the last four games and leading the Eagles – and the conference – with a .474 batting average.
Hooks, Jenner (.391) and
Dillon Morton (.390) all crack the Top 5 in the conference in batting average.
Upstate enters the series in first place of the Big South Conference with its 15-3 overall record.
For the Spartans, Devin Buckner heads the offense with a team-best .356 batting average. He has also knocked in 16 runs, second most on the team.
Jack Gallagher leads the team and the Big South with an impressive 23 runs batted in, with a season-high seven coming in Upstate's 12-2 win over Clemson.
Game 2 starter, Alex Garbrick, has a Big South best 1.35 ERA and 4-0 record.
Winthrop and USC Upstate have met nine times in history, with the Spartans holding a 5-4 all-time record. These teams met for the first time on Feb. 25, 2014 at the Winthrop Ballpark, with Winthrop taking the contest 13-5. Most recently during the 2019 season, Winthrop won the season series, taking 2-of-3 from the Spartans at home.
