ROCK HILL, S.C. – The Winthrop University athletic department announced three multi-year radio partnerships on Monday, which will expand the Winthrop Radio Network broadcasts throughout York County, Gaston County, and the Charlotte metro area.
Winthrop Athletics has agreed to a three-year extension with OTS Media of Rock Hill (94.3 FM) to serve as the flagship station for Winthrop Athletics and provide live broadcasts of Eagles basketball. As part of the partnership, OTS Media will help produce and distribute the broadcast to all network radio affiliates. In addition to extending its partnership with OTS Media, the school also announced a continued partnership with 730 ESPN Charlotte and AM 1450 WGNC Gastonia.
All basketball broadcasts include a half-hour pre-game and post-game show, featuring interviews with head coach
Mark Prosser, players, and opposing coaches.
The first 2021-22 broadcast of the Winthrop Radio Network, which is presented by Founders Federal Credit Union, will take place Tuesday, November 9
th as the Eagles host Mary Baldwin inside the Winthrop Coliseum. Tipoff is slated for 6:00 p.m., and the pre-game show with the voices of the Eagles,
Dave Friedman and
Mike Pacheco, will begin at 5:30 p.m.
