ROCK HILL, S.C. - The Big South Tournament begins Tuesday with three first round games at home sites. The seventh-seeded Eagles will host the tenth-seeded USC Upstate Spartans at 7 p.m. in a season finale rematch. The winner will advance to the quarterfinals on Thursday.
The Big South Women's Tournament is using the same dual pod system as last year with the top two seeds hosting quarterfinal and semifinal contests. Semifinals will be contested at Campbell and Radford on Friday with the championship coming Sunday at the highest remaining seed.
Winthrop and Upstate split the season series, 1-1, each winning on the road. The Eagles finished the regular season with an 11-18 overall record and an 8-12 mark in conference play. They are 5-8 at the Winthrop Coliseum.
