ROCK HILL, SC - Winthrop baseball will travel to Clemson, SC Wednesday afternoon for a 6 p.m. matchup with the Clemson Tigers at Doug Kingsmore Stadium. Wednesday's contest will be aired live on ACC Network Extra, with each team providing a radio stream as well.
Winthrop looks for its second straight win over Clemson Wednesday, as the Eagles topped the Tigers 8-6 at Doug Kingsmore Stadium on April 23 of last season. Winthrop head coach
Tom Riginos returns once again to face his former team, as Riginos served as an assistant coach on Jack Leggett's staff from 2003-2010.
The Eagles are 11-3 on the season and come off winning two of three games at George Mason last weekend, winning the series opener 7-4 and the Sunday finale 6-0. Winthrop is 3-1 on the road this season.
Clemson is 12-3 overall on the season and 3-0 in ACC play, coming off a three game sweep of Boston College at Doug Kingsmore Stadium. The Tigers are 11-2 at home this season.
