Rock Hill, S.C. – The Big South Conference announced its spring 2021 volleyball league schedule Thursday afternoon.
 
The 16-match double round-robin slate spans from Feb. 4-April 2, with contests scheduled for Thursdays and Fridays against the same opponent at the same location. The schedule format has been adjusted to limit travel and help ensure the health and safety of student-athletes, coaches and staff. 
 
The reigning Big South Conference champions will open the season against USC Upstate at home on Feb. 11-12. Other home matches include Campbell (Feb. 25-26), Gardner-Webb (March 4-5) and Presbyterian (March 25-25). The Eagles will face Charleston Southern (Feb. 18-19), High Point (March 11-12), Radford (March 18-19) and UNC Asheville (April 1-2) on the road.
 
Nine of the 10 Big South member institutions that sponsor women's volleyball will compete in the spring, as Hampton's fall sports remain suspended due to the ongoing impacts of the coronavirus pandemic.
 
Contingencies were built into the schedule to allow flexibility for completing the season in full.  With matches currently scheduled one week apart, adjustments can be made to accommodate any facility conflicts or interruptions.  Each team will also have one week off during the conference season and this year's regular-season champion will earn the Big South's automatic bid to the NCAA Championship.
