ROCK HILL, SC - Winthrop looks to keep jockeying for the top spot in the Big South Conference this coming weekend, welcoming Gardner-Webb to the Winthrop Ballpark for a three game series beginning Thursday night at 6 p.m. Winthrop enters the weekend 21-15 overall and 10-5 in Big South play, tied for second in the league with Presbyterian and two games behind first place Campbell (12-3 Big South). Gardner-Webb comes into Thursday's contest 17-16 overall with a 7-8 mark in Big South play. The Runnin' Bulldogs sit in a tie with UNC Asheville for fifth place in the league. 

Thursday is Dollar Dog Night, with all hot dogs going for $1 while supplies last. Thursday also marks First Responder Appreciation Night at the Winthrop Ballpark. All first responders and their families may receive group rate admission at the Winthrop box office. 

Friday night's contest will be streamed live on ESPN3, with Thursday and Saturday's games being streamed via internet radio. 

Saturday's game marks Big Stuff's Birthday, featuring a ceremonial first pitch and in-game giveaways throughout the afternoon. 

Winthrop is coming off winning two of three games against UNC Asheville this past weekend and then topping Wofford 8-4 at the Winthrop Ballpark on Tuesday night. Winthrop scored six times in the fourth inning and used six bullpen arms to get the job done against the Terriers.

Gardner-Webb lost two of three games last weekend on the road against Charleston Southern, managing to win the middle game of the series. The Runnin' Bulldogs won their midweek game over UNC Charlotte 11-4 on the road on Tuesday night.
