* Pawelczyk Prowess: Senior RHP Nate Pawelczyk has been nothing short of dominant in his four 2019 starts. The Pompano Beach, FL native has allowed only three earned runs in 26 innings for a season ERA of just 1.04. In Pawelczyk's most recent outing, he stymied Penn hitters for 8.0 innings of one-run ball, allowing only two hits, striking out six and walking five. Pawelczyk has not allowed more than two earned runs in any of his starts this season, and three of his four outings have been quality starts (the only exception being his first start against Toledo where he was removed after five innings). Opposing hitters are hitting a paltry .198 against Pawelczyk on the season.

* Rendon Rising: Junior RHP Colten Rendon has posted back-to-back stellar outings out of the bullpen after a slow start to the season. Rendon has tossed 4.2 straight scoreless innings heading into Tuesday's game, allowing only two hits in that span. Rendon tossed three shutout innings against UNC Greensboro this past Tuesday and threw a scoreless ninth inning against Penn in game two of the series to pick up his first save of the season.

* Damage Control: Outside of Nate Pawelczyk, the Eagles have had difficulties finding consistent performers on the mound. The Eagles yielded 13 runs in two of the three games vs. Penn, making it four times this year that Winthrop has allowed 13 or more runs. The Eagles' team ERA sits at 5.23 coming into Tuesday, which ranks seventh in the Big South Conference.

* The Year of Yankle: Catcher Spencer Yankle has stood out as the Eagles' best hitter thus far in 2019, as he comes into Tuesday's matchup with Bryant batting .370 (17-46) on the season (17-46) with three doubles and 10 RBI. Yankle has started 13 games either behind the plate or at designated hitter and has recorded at least one hit in all 13 starts, including four multi-hit games in that span.
