Winthrop is coming off a 62-54 victory over Presbyterian Saturday afternoon. Late-game free throw shooting helped seal the victory for the Eagles. Whitfield led the Eagles with 16 points and fell just shy of a double-double with nine rebounds.
SCOUTING GARDNER-WEBB
Gardner-Webb is 12-11 on the year and 6-5 in the Big South and has gone 3-3 since falling to the Eagles in mid-January. The Bulldogs snuck by Longwood 80-78 on Saturday. Gardner-Webb has four players averaging double-figures this season, led by Carley Plentovich with 13.8 points per game.
