SERIES HISTORY VERSUS CAMPBELL
Winthrop and Campbell meet for the 26th time as the Camels own a 19-6 all-time series advantage. Campbell has a 14-4 advantage in regular season Big South meetings. The Eagles have won four of the last six meetings.

LAST TIME THESE TEAMS MET
The two teams last met in Buies Creek, NC on Oct. 13, 2018 as Winthrop escaped with a 1-0 victory over the eventual Big South Champions. Aidan McCormick made six saves to earn a shutout as he made a couple of big saves in the final 15 minutes of play. Alfie Rogers nearly broke the scoreless tie in the 66th minute when his shot on goal from 25 yards out was just tipped over the bar for a corner. Freshman Jonathan Foster subbed into the game in the 56th minute and in the 69th minute scored the only goal of the game as he struck a cross first time at the edge of the box into the right corner.

SCOUTING THE CAMELS
Sitting at a perfect 2-0 in league play and 8-2-1 overall the Camels enter the match having won five straight with four shutouts. The streak started with a win at Georgia Southern followed by wins over Radford (in overtime), Wofford and USC Upstate (double overtime). Campbell's eight wins are the most by any league school and the Camels have also allowed just three goals since falling 4-0 at Memphis in the season-opener. Ranked third in the league in goals per game (1.64) and lead the league in goals against average (0.61). Thibaut Jacquel leads the team and conference in points (18) and points per game (1.64). He has nine goals on the year with four of them going for game-winners (tied for 2nd in the country).

A GLANCE AT THE EAGLES
Eagles have dropped three straight and coming off a 3-0 loss against UNC Asheville on Saturday, Oct. 5. It was the 6th time this season the Eagles had been shutout. It was the fourth time the Eagles were shutout in a game they generated at least seven shots. This is the team's first back-to-back games at home this year. Jordan Walshaw leads the team offensively with six points while Cameron Thayer is second with five points. The Eagles as a team are tied for third in the Big South with 12 assists and all alone in third for assists per game.

10th YEAR ANNIVERSARY OF 2009 BIG SOUTH CHAMPIONSHIP
This season the Eagles celebrate the 10th anniversary of the 2009 Big South Conference Championship team. The Eagles were coming off a championship in 2008 as it lost some of the greatest players in the history of the program. The Eagles were still loaded with talent and after dropping the opener 3-1 at North Carolina State, they won five in a row. Heading into the Big South Tournament the Eagles were struggling, having lost three straight (outscored 10-1). Winthrop, seeded fourth, defeated Gardner-Webb in penalties to advance to the semifinals and then advanced to the championship after defeating top-seeded Coastal Carolina 4-2 in penalties. The Eagles went on to defeat Liberty 2-1 in the championship game, advancing to the NCAA Tournament for a second straight season. Winthrop went on to lose 3-2 at 20th-ranked Duke in the opening round of the NCAA College Cup.

BIG SOUTH PRESEASON POLL
The Eagles were voted 7th in the 2019 Big South Conference preseason poll. Winthrop returns nine players that started at least eight games from a team that was 3-5 in the league last year. The Eagles finished in 7th last season, a point out of tying Longwood and USC Upstate for 6th. Defending regular-season champion High Point is the preseason favorite while Radford and Campbell tied for 2nd in the poll.

WHAT'S AHEAD
Eagles will have the next five days off and then hit the road to Farmville, VA to take on Longwood on Tuesday, Oct. 15 at 7 p.m.
