Rock Hill, S.C. – Winthrop Volleyball hits the road this weeknd for the final time this season, with stops at Hampton and Campbell. The Eagles (17-4, 9-0) look to extend their conference win streak and hold on to the top spot in the conference going into the final two weeks of play. Winthrop volleyball extended their conference win streak to nine straight last weekend with sweeps of Presbyterian College and Charleston Southern. This has been the best conference season for the Eagles since the 2006 team finished 14-0.

A Look at Hampton
In their second season as members of the Big South Conference, the Hampton Pirates are just 1-7 and 6-13 overall. Their single win came in early October in a five-set win over UNC-Asheville. Sophomore, outside hitter, Gaby Calloway, has led the Pirate offense with 2.94 kills per set along with setter, Lena Reed-Patrick, who is averaging 7.07 assists per set.
The Eagles and the Pirates have played each other just four times, with Winthrop coming away victorious in all four match-ups.
A Look at Campbell
The Campbell Camels have had the best start to the conference season since joining the Big South in 2011, and their best overall since the 2009 season. The Camels were off to a 4-1 start with notable wins over Radford and three-set sweeps over UNC Asheville and Charleston Southern. Presbyterian College handed the Camels just their second loss of the season. Outside hitter, Sarah Colla, has been key for Campbell this season, maintaining 4.03 kills per set and a .250 attack percentage.
The Eagles hold the All-Time Record over the Camels, 18-10, including a three-set sweep last season.
Catching Up With The Eagles
Siani Yamaguchi has continued her stellar season year, earning Big South Volleyball Player of the Week honors for the second time this season. Yamaguchi leads the conference in assists with 8.90 per set and has helped her team to the top spot in hitting percentage at .227.
Middle blockers,
Makayla Doyle and
Morgan Bossler, will be looked to for key contributions this weekend. The duo leads the conference in hitting percentage and Bossler holds the second spot in the conference for blocks per set with 1.18.
