ROCK HILL, S.C. – Winthrop men's basketball has announced the signing of transfer Chandler Vaudrin of Uniontown, Ohio. An imposing 6-7, 200-lb. guard, Vaudrin started all 27 games last season for Walsh University, a Division II program in North Canton, Ohio, and will join the Eagles this fall. As a transfer, Vaudrin will be required to sit out the 2018-19 season in compliance with NCAA rules.

Besides his impressive stats, we were impressed by his competitive fire, love of the game and drive to improve. It has been a joy getting to know his family through the recruiting process. They are wonderful people. Chandler excels in the classroom and will be a terrific addition to our campus community."
Vaudrin led the country with four triple-doubles in 2017-18 (regardless of division or level) and averaged 15.5 points per game, 9.3 rebounds per game and 7.5 assists per game in 2017-18 for the Cavaliers, all team-highs.
The sophomore led his conference with 2.33 steals per game and field-goal percentage at 56.0. Vaudrin was ranked 13
th in the nation with 16 double-doubles and earned First-Team All-Great Midwest Athletic Conference honors for his efforts. Vaudrin set a G-MAC conference record with 16 assists in a 102-68 win over Kentucky Wesleyan on Feb. 10, 2018. Â
Vaudrin also started 20 of 26 games as a freshman for Walsh, averaging 6.7 points per game and 7.8 rebounds per game.
A highly sought-after transfer to the Division I level, Vaudrin was also recruited and contacted by Davidson, Missouri State, UMass, UAB, James Madison, Central Michigan, Kent State, UC Davis and Montana.
